When installing audio software on a Mac you should see a few pop ups to allow access to your files and folders as well as to your Microphone.  You will want to click Allow. 

If you have missed this step or clicked on "Don't Allow" because you didn't know what it was, then you can easily navigate to your System Settings/Privacy & Security to engage that option for the software.
